Making The Most Of Your Aquariums

Your aquariums are truly a reflection of your own taste. Take advantage of decorations, backgrounds, plants, or creatures of your choice to personalize each aquarium to your liking.

Caring for Dolphins and other creatures requires time and money. The primary method of earning coins in Dolphin Play is by raising new baby creatures and then selling them after they become adults. Each creature has a pre-determined minimum amount of time for which they require in order to grow to adults. Wait until the creature is an adult to maximize your returns.

Creature Bonuses - You get additional coins based on a creature’s happiness level when they are sold (see “Increasing Creature Happiness”). For Dolphins, you get additional coins based on their training level too.

Dolphins provide you an additional opportunity to earn coins through Dolphin Training.

Step 1: Tap on the swimming Dolphin to open its properties followed by the "Train" button to initiate training.
Step 2: Train your Dolphin by sliding your finger around the screen to collect all of the stars and balloons.

 

Managing Multiple Aquariums

You have many tools in Dolphin Play to simplify the management of aquariums.

Adding a Tank

Step 1: Access the "Store" again and select "Accessories" to buy an additional tank.

Cleaning Your Tank

Step 1: Tap the button on the bottom right of your aquarium followed by "Clean" from the menu.
Step 2: Swipe your fingers across your aquarium to clean it.

 

Navigating Between Aquariums

Step 1: Tap on the aquarium's name from the top center of your aquarium.
Step 2: Select the aquarium that you’d like to visit by tapping on it.
Step 3: Switch to your previous aquarium repeating steps 1 and 2.

Moving Creatures and Decorations between Aquariums

Step 1: Tap on the aquarium’s name from the top center of your aquarium.
Step 2: Touch the creature or decoration you’d like to move from your open aquarium and then drag it to the destination aquarium of your choice. The item will disappear when you release the image and it is now in the tank you chose.

 

Feeding Creatures

Creatures in Dolphin Play love to eat. They like to be fed every 12 hours otherwise they begin to starve. If the creatures starve too long, they will die! Don’t worry; you can revive creatures with Shells if this happens.

There are two methods for feeding creatures in Dolphin Play.

• Manual feeding is one method that provides you with coins and experience points for taking care of creatures individually. Feeding using this method requires more of your own time.
• The second method is to use food bricks so the creatures can feed themselves. Remember to replenish your food bricks after their supply runs out. You can check the remaining time left for a food brick by tapping on it. This method cost coins or Shells and does not award you with additional coins or experience points for feeding.

Method 1: Manual Feeding

Step 1: Tap on the button on the bottom right of your aquarium followed by "Food" from the menu.
Step 2: Tap several times to feed each of your creatures.

Method 2: Food Bricks

Step 1: Tap on the button on the bottom right of your aquarium followed by “Accessories” from the menu. Select the food brick option that best suits your needs.
Step 2: Tap the location in your tank where you would like to place the food brick to complete your purchase.

 

Increasing Creature Happiness

It pays more than affection in Dolphin Play for being nice to your creatures. You receive additional coins when selling creatures based on their happiness level achieved.

80% is the "normal" happiness level in an empty new tank and will net you the standard selling price for your adult creatures when sold. When you increase creature happiness, it increases their value.

You increase the happiness bonus for your tank by purchasing items (plants, decorations, and backgrounds). Each item in the store has a label such as (Happiness +1). This is how much (in percent) adding the item to your tank will increase overall happiness.

 

Crossbreeding Fish

Only certain fish have cross breeding abilities. They are specially marked in the Store. Once you begin cross breeding, you can use Shells to speed up the process. Once you successfully cross breed a fish, that fish is now available in the store. Cross breeding fish can be cheaper than purchasing them in the store.

 

Playing with Friends

It is more fun when playing with friends! Work your way up the leaderboard and impress your friends with your decked-out tanks! Find your friends who also play by logging into social media networks. Visit your friend’s tanks to earn coin and XP. Also train your friend’s dolphins to help them out even more!

Why are my creatures not maturing as stated?

How do I add a creature to my aquarium?

You add creatures in Dolphin Play as follows:

Step 1: Tap the button on the bottom right of your aquarium, followed by "Store" from the menu, then "Creatures", and select a creature to add to your aquarium.
Step 2: Tap an open space in your aquarium for each time you wish to purchase the selected creature.

 

How do I get Shells?

You can obtain Shells in different ways. You can purchase them from the “Get Shells” menu and gain them through leveling up or through completing certain missions in the game.

 

How can you earn XP to level up?

Experience points (XP) in Dolphin Play are provided for completing various actions in the game. XP awards vary based on the particular action completed. Levels are determined by your XP. The current level you have achieved, your current XP accumulated, and the required XP to advance to the next level are displayed in the top right corner of your aquarium. You can earn XP by performing the following actions:

• Buying any items in the store
• Selling any items from your tank
• Playing with your creatures
• Completing missions that reward XP
• Cleaning your tanks
• Feeding creatures individually
• Visiting your friend’s tanks, feeding their creatures and clean their tanks
• Training your friend’s dolphins

 

What is Expertise Level?

Every time you sell an adult creature you gain a point towards that creatures Expertise level. Every time your expertise level goes up, you are awarded currency and XP. To view your progress, go to the store and tap on the image of the creature. This will bring up the Expertise level progress.

How do I disable in app purchases to prevent unintentional purchases?

You can disable in-app purchases on your device using the available settings.

iOS

From your device, click on Settings > General > Restrictions and then select OFF for In-App Purchases.

Android

On your device, open Google Play Store app.
Press Menu and then touch Settings.
Touch Set or change PIN.
Enter a PIN code, and touch OK.
Re-enter your PIN to confirm.
Check the box for "Use Pin for purchases".
